How Steyn Atelier Consignment Works

At Steyn Atelier, we make luxury resale simple, transparent, and rewarding. Each piece is reviewed with care and authenticated by our in-house specialists before it’s offered to our discerning clientele.
 

Step 1: Submit Your Item

Complete our short consignment form to begin your submission.
Upload clear photos and details about your item — our team will handle the rest.
 

Step 2: Initial Review

~7–10 business days

Once we receive your submission, our specialists carefully assess your photos and description. You’ll then receive a preliminary quote range based on brand, condition, and current resale value.

All preliminary quotes remain valid for 7 days and may be adjusted once your item undergoes in-person inspection.
 

Step 3: Accept & Ship

~2–3 business days

If you choose to move forward, we’ll provide a pre-paid, insured shipping label and instructions for securely sending your item to our atelier in Windermere, Florida.
 

Step 4: Authentication & Final Evaluation

~3–5 business days

When your item arrives, our authentication team performs a detailed inspection to confirm authenticity and condition. If everything matches your submission, you’ll receive a final consignment or purchase offer for approval.

Should we find material differences, we’ll issue an adjusted offer with clear notes before proceeding.
 

Step 5: Get Paid

~1–2 business days after acceptance

Once you approve the final offer, payment is processed through your preferred method — direct deposit, Zelle®, or store credit — and your luxury piece is ready for its next chapter.

What We Accept

We currently accept authentic luxury handbags, small leather goods, and accessories in excellent to fair condition from the following designers:

Hermès · Chanel · Louis Vuitton · Dior · Gucci · Prada · Fendi · Loewe · Celine · Goyard · Miu Miu · Bottega Veneta · Saint Laurent / YSL

Items should be free from major damage, strong odors, or structural issues.
 

Pricing & Valuation

Steyn Atelier determines pricing based on:

  • Designer & Style: Certain models command higher resale value based on rarity and demand.
  • Condition: Cosmetic wear, edge rubs, or interior marks affect grading and price.
  • Market Insight: We reference live resale data, seasonal trends, and current buyer demand.
  • Original Retail & Rarity: Retail price provides context, but the true resale value reflects present-day demand.

Our goal is a competitive, realistic resale price that benefits both consignor and buyer.
 

Offer Validity

All offers are valid for 7 days from receipt. If an offer expires, you’re welcome to resubmit — however, updated market conditions may affect future estimates.
 

If Your Item Is Not Accepted

We maintain strict quality and authenticity standards to protect our clients and consignors.
Items may be declined if they:

  • Fall outside our accepted designer list
  • Show excessive wear or odor
  • Cannot be confidently authenticated
  • Do not align with current market demand

If declined before shipping, no action is required.
If declined after arrival, the item will be returned to you (a 1.99% handling fee, $50 minimum, may apply).

If an item cannot be authenticated but is not confirmed counterfeit, you may request its return for a $250 processing and authentication-handling fee.
Any item verified as counterfeit will be destroyed or turned over to law enforcement in accordance with U.S. law.
